This little traveler loves to visit new places and explore new things, but always while being prepared. He carries all of his essential items with him. A journal and camera to document his travels, a map so he's never truly lost, some cookware and a fishing rod to make his meals with, a bedroll to rest comfortably and a bundle of dry sticks to get a cozy fire going when he's camping under the stars. He's always on the move, in search of new and wonderful things, ready to meet people and embrace the world and all it offers.

These pieces are all handmade - the books are actual bound books I constructed, so you can open them up and leaf through the pages, and even add some (very small) notes - maybe a dedication? Some items are not sewn or glued down, so you can reposition or take them out to examine to your hearts content. The packs themselves are permanently affixed to the bear. Not intended for use as a toy, he would be happiest on a shelf or desktop, perhaps with a window nearby to gaze through.

My soft sculptures are designed and handsewn in the great Canadian countryside, where nature and its inhabitants are prevalent. I pull much of my inspiration from the woods where I grew up, fallen trees, blankets of moss and the whimsical quality of wild mushrooms.

NOTE: I'm very excited to make your bear for you, but please be aware that all of my art is hand stitched and I work slowly because of a wrist injury that I don't want to aggravate. Most orders will take 1-2 weeks to complete and ship. Thanks! :)
